 Post subject: Raid enchants and adds for gear for pally healer ?

I was wondering if someone could list the enchants that are currently available and adds like we had for helm and such for pally healers. I was wondering if any important raid enchants/adds were replaced with the release of Lich King. I just hit 80 and got some new gear and wanted something for my mace and head gear and I found that assuming what we used to get would be a good idea might be wrong ... had to ask here ... thnx for your time

Anyone else feel like Enchanters got a little bit shafted?

Scribes get hot shoulder enchants, leatherworkers get a hot wrist enchant, blacksmiths get the sockets, tailors get the leg threads and cloak enchants, enchanters get...

2 ring enchants for a total of 38 spellpower! Yay!

Just seems to me that enchanters should get the best boost from this kind of thing, and yet they don't??

Not really, no.

Enchanters get +38 spellpower from their 2 rings. Scribes get +37 spellpower from their shoulder enchants (+61 for theirs compared with +24 for everyone else). Blacksmiths get two free sockets; +38 spellpower there (+19 per runed ruby). Leatherworkers get +37 spellpower to bracers (+30 for the standard enchant, +67 on the LW-only ones).

So, everyone pretty much gets very even bonuses.

Tailors are harder to gauge; their tailor-only leg enchants are the same as the epic BoE ones, just cheaper, and their cloak enchants give other bonuses. Engineers arguably do get the shaft, because their only relevant enchant (haste to gloves) is only an alternative for existing standard enchants, not an upgrade.

Enchanters are fine. Middle of the pack.

JC has a early boost because they get Epic gems when we are using blues.
BS will get a late boost because once epic gems are available they can be slotted into sockets balances around blue gems.

Tailoring isnt that great, the best of the cloak enchants is a little better then +23 haste but not that much better and the others are worse. One of our tailors is considering dropping it at 4xx because they arent using the cloak enchant and yet another mount+ a cheap but same leg enchant isnt enough. On other hand we have no main spec inscriptors so any t8+ etc patterns would be hers.

Engineering is bad, it seems to be considered a gathering profession, the helm is easily replaced, I know at least one engineer in our guild allready has. The enchants are average to ok. I allways felt sad for our engineer, months in sunwell, handing out bots on a regular basis and yet while we finished with perhaps 14-15 boe patterns including 4 engineering helms the cloth caster helm never dropped.

Yeah, everyone gets even - but it's such a bitch to level I'm hoping they give us a few better enchants. (What I meant was, it would seem logical for Enchanters to have one of the best, if not the best, bonuses, but they're really just the same.)

But you're right, these kind of conversations are pointless to have because it turns into an argument straight away :) . I'll just leave it at, it's very good that nearly all professions can offer something as a special 'bonus' to our characters. ;)

I really want to continue this discussion as I think it has the potential to become a very interesting debate, but the nagging voice in the back of my head is telling me to be a good little forum moderator and not derail the thread. :cry:

Let's just say it's both logical and illogical at the same time. I'll explain my logic in another thread (if anyone else finds this topic intriguing enough to start one, preferably in the General Discussion forum *hint**hint*), but for now I'll just send you a PM, Anhedonia. ;)

Oh, and I'm not at the point where I have any new socketed gear yet, but my guess is that I'll probably gem for Int and spellpower.

Edit: I forgot Int, crit, and haste were all yellow gem stats. /facepalm

At the moment I'm gemming for Spellpower in reds, Int in yellows/oranges and blues are sadly still the same old SP/mp5s. I may swap some crit in instead of Int down the track.
