Do you have logs for your attempts?
We have a shadow priest + rogue do 1, 4, and 7 since they can negate 100% of the damage and it's really hard to have people topped off for the 7th hour (back when we would go that long.)

Remember you're trying to reduce 300k damage down to something survivable. 40% reduction brings it to 180k...
101 x 1.4s = 141s = 2 minutes, 21 seconds. The fight lasted 14:57, so 2 minutes, 21 seconds is 15.71% of the total time for 2.4% of total healing done. It was 4.47% of your healing if you include the amount overhealed, if that makes you feel any better ;) (1859482 out of 41632681) Healing Touch remains 1.9% even counting overheals since its overheal and your overall overheal are almost the same.
In any raid with tank-swaps, I'd consider GoLB to be almost mandatory. Bullding a Lb stack from scratch costs two extra GCD's (and slightly more mana than a Nourish) at a point where you may really be stressed for every available GCD. Depends on the strength of Lifebloom in mists. Right now, I care much more that one stack is going; boosting it to 3 isn't worth my time unless there's nothing else to do (like before the pull.)
Druids own the meters on this fight, which is fun if you're a druid :)
Hymn and Tranq channel faster with haste. The one time I had hero and blue, tranq channeled in like 2.5s! (I don't know about the hot that Tranq leaves behind, though.)
We actually hero at the pull since there aren't any Fading Lights before the first Hour of Twilight and everyone's dps procs are going off.

Back in T11, I had very similar feelings. But time (and really good gear) have healed that wound and it's water under the bridge now.
I don't say "thank goodness I was able to get (spell x) off" about most of my spells, so I'm not sure that's a fair complaint to levy against Nourish. I am glad to have it because it refreshes both LB (and thus Replenishment et al) and Harmony while being essentially free.
