Solo Healing 10m N Ultraxion

Last night, we started accidentally started without our holy Paladin, so i started just healling my brains out. And for the first 2-3 min it didn't go to badly even though i don't think our dps had their whole heart in it.

So now I want to convince my raid lead to let me do this just for giggles. I want to optimize for this. Do I trinket for spirit to keep up regen and reforge for mastery for the bonus heals?

Then regarding the buffs, do I switch from red to green? 100% stronger heals versus duplicated healing. I am still unsure exactly what the Ysera's buff does. Our dps is such that we wont get to the blue.

Looking at other shaman that have done this on world of logs, it seems like most don't take green.

Our Shaman does this and stays with the Red buff the entire time. Next week it's my turn to try. :d

Since you're only taking one of the crystals does that leave the blue for a dps? Or would it not affect harmful spells?

Well our dps is such that we only have the blue buff for a few seconds now anyway, but Blizz set the buffs so they dont work with dps specs. our arcane mage was very disappointed.

Boo! That extra haste would be amazing for my Fire DoTs D:<

Note to those with Fire mages in your raid groups: Have them try out FFB spec, it's hella fun and comparable now that Fireball has been nerfed.

I'm not sure about going red all the way. Red pushes all your heals 100% more but that means that you ll be mostly running with healing rain and chain heals. Think of this. If you take green, you'll still have the same healing throughput as it comes to healing rain but imagine what green will do for your greater healing waves. Green essentially makes your single target heals aoe. So what would you prefer? A doubled chain heal, or a doubled greater healing wave to ALL the raid? It will take some of your mana out though. I suggest you up your spirit by 500 lower your crit and green will take you home. Havent done this so I m just speculating. Let me know how it went!

Don't take green its not worth it. Take red and stay with it unless you have mana problems. IF there are mana problems switch to blue when it comes out.

Solo healing isn't necessarily just about how much that person can heal but also about tanks and dps not taking avoidable damage and using their CDs properly.

I would probably take a mastery = haste build and not reforge any spirit away. You will want to grab the extra point of Nature's Blessing. Probably pull it from TC since you wont have much time if any to cast anything but a heal. If your mana holds out you will want to ES the active tank. Bounce your CH off the ES'd tank or any other class that you have that has a +healing taken talent if the tank doesn't need the first hit.

For trinkets if you have access to Heart of Unliving and Windward Heart use them. Also if you have Maw of the Dragonlord be very insistent on a nice tight raid stack with you just slightly behind the stack.

Dont forget about SWG if you need the extra boost. And of course Tide on CD after you get down to 80% mana.
