Hey all,
I'm relatively new to the PlusHeal forums, but have enjoyed reading several of the posts on the site. I've recently (DS content) decided that I'd like to experiment/test out the stat priorities for holy paladins, and was wondering if anyone had any ideas about things I might be able to do/things that would be nice to look at to see if there is a stat stacking method that either works better, or makes that much of a difference.
I'm disregarding intellect, as obviously is a main stat for any caster class, as well as spirit, though I may reforge to that if a piece does not have spirit on it, but not in all cases. My focus is on ratings of crit, haste and mastery. I've never hopped on the haste paladin bandwagon, partly due to another holy paladin from our guild, but I also like the "components" the other stats could offer to me. I went mainly into crit/mastery for Firelands, but as I go into DS content I wonder more about the haste build. With the gain of the next HR tick at 777 haste rating, I in general have not paid that much attention to haste, but now as our group is easing into heroics see where either adding in more haste for an overall evening out of stats might be better for us, or just to see how they compare/if they are compatible with my healing style.
I'd like to look into something like gearing/reforging to get:
Crit>Mastery>Haste
Crit>Haste>Mastery
Haste>Mastery>Crit
Haste>Crit>Mastery
Mastery>Crit>Haste
Mastery>Haste>Crit
or some variation that doesn't have any of those stats as the lead, but a equal spread across all, and see how I can compare them.
Obviously there are alot of variables that will change my overall healing from raid night to raid night such as raid composition, raid/self awareness, tank cd use, how focused, or alternatively out of it I am on that day and several other fun human error whims. I've seen a number of posts talking about the haste vs mastery throughput and just some other general napkin math about stats on site, I'm much more interested in the theorycrafting, whereas my GM is the math whiz, so it makes for enjoyable discussion on that level as well. While raw math calculations might find the "perfect" answer, actual practice can change that image very easily, based on variables above.
My GM gave me a few recommendations on things to look at/study on:
First off is the obvious - how much did your heals and absorbs do?
Second is how much mana did you have left over?
I've seen some of the plus in favor of crit and mastery over haste and vice versa on the site and hoped that maybe some of you might have either some interest in seeing what I gather from this/enjoy discussion about my experiment, or have additional ideas on related things.
Ignore me

definitely hasn't helped, so our core group changes composition nearly weekly, but is mainly composed of at least the same people, just perhaps on other alts as we need help in other areas.
